Founded in 1963, the Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania is a leader in the presentation of contemporary art. Through exhibitions, commissions, educational programs, and publications, ICA invites the public to share in the experience, interpretation and understanding of the work of established and emerging artists.

ICA is free to all visitors!
Public Transportation
Take city bus #21 to 36th and Walnut Streets, or any green line train (except #10) to 36th Street. ICA is located on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania at the corner of 36th and Sansom Streets (between Chestnut and Walnut Streets), seven blocks west of the Schuykill Expressway (76) from the 30th Street or South Street Exits.
Directions & Parking
Public parking lots are located adjacent to the museum and in the surrounding area, and metered parking is available on the street.
Other Information
Guided tours are led by professional educators, Penn graduate students, and ICA staff. Tour requests are accepted by email or fax with a two-week minimum advance booking required. Tours are available during regular ICA gallery hours: Wednesday through Friday 12pm - 8pm and Saturday and Sunday 11am-5 pm. See the ICA website for further details.
